Yanshan University Scholarship Program for International Students （Docteral Degree Program）
The Yanshan University Scholarship for International Students is exclusively for non-Chinese doctoral candidates enrolling in Yanshan University’s Doctoral Degree Program. The Yanshan University Scholarship for International Students is awarded exclusively to non-Chinese citizens admitted to Yanshan University’s Doctoral Degree Program. Courses are taught in Chinese or English. The scholarship is valid for four years and may be extended to four years if one year of Chinese language study is required prior to degree coursework.
Coverage
The scholarship covers: registration fee, tuition fee, and on-campus dormitory accommodation; monthly allowance of CNY 1,400 for 12 months per year; and a one-off settlement subsidy of CNY 2,000.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport and be in good health. They must hold a master’s degree diploma and be under 40 years of age. Applicants who hold the Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship, or any other Chinese scholarship are not eligible.
Application
Applications must be submitted by 20 May each year. Required documents include: passport copy (photo page); Yanshan University admission application form for international students (with photograph); certified educational records, degree certificates or diplomas, and academic transcripts (photocopies); physical examination form for foreigners; HSK-5 or HSK-6 certificate (if studying in Chinese); or IELTS ≥6.5 or TOEFL ≥85 (if studying in English); personal statement; and two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors.
